Special guest tonight on Deja – Throwing Shade

Tonight’s special guest on Deja Vu is a new producer/DJ coming straight from our very own London town. We’ve had  guests from all over the place recently, but it’s always a good feeling to grab someone out of London’s scene and get them on Radio. Throwing Shade has been playing all over London for the past couple of years, including the well known Safari Funk parties, and a small amount in Beijing, where there’s a small scene for parties at cinema drive-ins apparently. She’s recently put her hand to production and the early results are promising.

When we asked what to expect from her tonight she responded: “The mix I’m doing for Wifey Radio stretches from field recordings of Congolese drumming (the influence of having studied music at SOAS), to Chicago footwork sounds, to garage, to italo”. Listeners should be prepared for something a little different to the usually scheduled broadcast, but something that fits perfectly with the unrestrictive party vibe we’ve been going for with Wifey for ages.
